CO2 from Waste to Raw Materials: The Carbon-Based Circular Economy

16 November 2016, Marrakesh, Morocco

CO2 can be used as a source of carbon and can be biologically or chemically transformed into new products (organic compounds, chemical building blocks, synthetic fuels, building materials).

“SCOT” the Smart CO2 Transformation project, (FP7 project) explored ways of valorization of CO2 and the potential of Carbon Capture & Utilization (CCU).
Join us and discover why we consider CO2 as a resource and how CCU can be a tangible solutions contributing to the implementation of Paris Agreement, addressing EU’s industrial Renaissance, EU’s competitiveness and responding to Energy and climate objectives.

In short, we invite you to explore:

- CCU as a new abatement technology, creating new value chains & jobs
- The Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda for Smart CO2 Transformation in Europe and its Joint Action Plan
- Industrial examples by the case of Arcelor Mittal
- Concrete recommendations for decision makers

SPEAKERS (Belgium) :

M. Petitjean, President of GreenWin Innovation Cluster
Ms. Graff, Managing Director of GreenWin Innovation Cluster
M. Buttiens, General Manager Environmental & Climate Change affairs, Arcelor Mittal

5th Conference on Carbon Dioxide as Feedstock for Fuels, Chemistry and Polymers

6-7 December 2016, Maternushaus, Cologne (Germany)

Over the last few years, the rise of carbon dioxide utilization has developed to become more and more dynamic. Especially in the area of fuels several players are very active and different technologies to generate aviation and transport fuels from CO2 are ready to use. But also in CO2-based chemicals and polymers as well as mineralization processes a lot of projects and realization steps are in place to create a new CO2-based future.

At the conference leading players will showcase some enhanced and also new applications using CO2 as feedstock and representatives from political bodies and research institutes will present and discuss the latest national and regional policies, strategies and visions. More than 200 participants are expected.

1st Day – 6 December 2016
